Yorkshire is the biggest region in the UK, where you can explore more than
800,000 hectares of area. Yorkshire stretches from the really great coast in the
east across spectacular moors and fertile valleys to the Dales in the west. The
people who live in Yorkshire speak such a hard dialect1 that another
Englishman don't understand.
At the "Dales of Yorkshire" most people from other
countries come to walk. On the small paths you can see birds, which hatch2
their eggs. In this part of the region "hares3 and foxes4
say good night to each other. |

On the coast in the east you find different kinds5 of coastlines
you find cliffs with rocks, and there you cannot swim and you can find coasts of
red sand6 in this pictures you can see Roobin Hood's bay and a
nameless typical cliff near Hull. |

In the map you can find all these places. In Yorkshire there are most of
the national museums: theNational Coalmining Museum in
Wakefield, the National Railway Museum, in York
and the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford. The
moors of Yorkshire are very interesting but also very dangerous, about 10 people
die there each year. To the moors go more then 30% of the tourists who go
toYorkshire. In Yorkshire you can also go hiking or walking in the Dales. There
you find the biggest Hotels of Yorkshire but not most of the people: only 17% of
the tourists go there. Most tourists go to cities like York, Leeds, Hull or
Sheffield. Bymany coachtours from London or France you can go to Yorkshire, then
you see about over 90% of Yorkshire. (From London you need about 3-6 hours to
Yorkshire. |
In the Rush Hour you often need 6 hours or more then 6 hours when you drive
at night with a fast car you need only 3 hours.) In York, the biggest city of
Yorkshire, you can go shopping, go to a pleasure park, go swimming, go to a
meuseum, go to a party or only go out for a walk." Yorkshire is the region
with the most versatileness7 of the world" (Internet
www.tui.de). When a German tour operator8 says so then I think it's
true.
At the cliffs in the north of York you see sunrises which you will never
forget. The industry in Yorkshire is very clean only seven coal power plants9
pollute Yorkshire, the other industries don't pollute the land. Most of the
industry is in Wales and South England. Along the 45 miles of coastline there is
more than the traditional resorts of Scarborough and Filey and
Whitby with its Dracula and Captain Cook connections and
spectacular ruined abbey, the area also has literary and cultural attractions
such as the Stephen Joseph Theatre. The ruins of monasteries are
scattered across the country at places such as Rievaulx, Jervaulx
and Fountains Abbey - a World Heritage site. In Yorkshire live about
700,000 people, in a year there are over 3 millions tourists.Yorkshire consists
of districts10. One of these districts is Harrogate District. Harrogate
is mixture of beautiful landscapes11, flourishing12
towns and heritage13 sites. The town of Harrogate, has a rich spa14
history, combined with parks, gardens and floral displays15. Close
by is the medieval16 market town of Knaresborough famous for
its 14th century ruined castle, its maze17 of narrow streets and
Mother Shiptons Cave. From
Pateley Bridge to Masham, the towns and villages of Nidderdale
provide the perfect base to explore the magnificent18 surrounding19
countryside. There are also spectacular memories of bygone days in North
Yorkshire with magnificent structures which have stood for centuries. Selby
Abbey and Ripon Cathedral are two of the finest examples of English
architecture to be found anywhere in the world. North Yorkshire is indeed20
a land of diversity.
